Poulsen was the recipient of the 2013 President's Award and the 2018 Special Achievement Award from the Tacoma-Pierce County Association of Realtors® -TPCAR- and was nominated for the 2017 and 2018 TPCAR Realtor of the Year award. He was active in Governmental Affairs and sat on the TPCAR Board of Directors from 2012-2019 and was the TPCAR Treasurer for 2019. After graduating from UBC with a Bachelor of Commerce and Major in Marketing, he traveled extensively through parts of South East Asia, South Pacific and Central America. It was during his travels that he made various contacts and connections that would lead him to start his first entrepreneurial venture. He created a business importing hammocks and selling a wide variety of styles via mail order, tradeshows and wholesale. Soon thereafter he expanded operations establishing an online presence that eventually became Hammocks.com and would later be sold to the billion dollar company, Hayneedle.com Over the next six years, David personally developed, bought and sold Strollers.com, Drums.com, Unicorns.com and over 60 website businesses in multiple niches and of various business models. During this same time period, the ecommerce market was growing rapidly and while there were many business brokers assisting with brick and mortar businesses, there were none that specialized in the sale of internet businesses. I graduated from the University of Washington and went straight into the international area of imports. I was a licensed broker within 3 years of entering the field and opening numerous branches for international companies. I owned my own brokerage company from1995 to 2002 and retired from the industry in 2005. At the same time I owned a couple espresso stands with a gimmick, a proud accomplishment was beating Starbucks and Tully’s to win the 5 year contract with the Seahawks Stadium for all coffee vending. I sold my last store to a licensee in 2009 and dove head first into the commercial real estate world and I have loved every minute of it. I have specialized in Restaurant Sales and have proven to be a Top Producer since the day I started. Averaging a close a month in a recessed economy has been my achievable goal. In May of 2011, I joined forces with Keller Williams Commercial to open my base of knowledge and deals immensely. I specialize in restaurants and business sales in general and want to expand further into commercial sales.
